Duties & Responsibilities This is a senior-level role requiring ownership, leadership, and independent decision-making. Financial Oversight & Review Oversee weekly financial processing, including accurate categorization of bank feedsPersonally manage a small book of clients from processing through reportingReview and approve monthly bank and credit card reconciliationsPerform month-end processes for your own portfolioOversee Accounts Payable processes and ensure accuracyProduce and review comprehensive financial statements and management reportsReview and approve monthly Sales Tax returns Month-End & Quarterly Excellence Take ownership of month-end processes and ensure deadlines are metConduct quarterly reviews, including evaluating books for potential 1099 filingsOversee quarterly tax-related projects and ensure compliance Team Leadership Manage and organize junior accountants and bookkeepersReview team deliverables to ensure technical accuracy and qualityProvide guidance, mentorship, and performance feedbackImprove workflows and drive efficiency within the team Client Engagement Build and maintain strong relationships with U.S. clientsCommunicate confidently and professionally in a virtual environmentLead client discussions where required, not only assistManage expectations and proactively address client concerns New Client Onboarding Support onboarding on an ad-hoc basis to ensure accounting accuracy and process alignment Problem Solving & Ownership Identify discrepancies and resolve them independentlyResearch solutions before escalating issuesImprove processes to prevent recurring errorsTake full ownership of your client portfolio and team output U.S. Tax Exposure After demonstrating strong technical accuracy, transition into greater involvement in U.S. tax workBuild expertise in one of the most globally valuable and transferable areas of accounting Desired Experience & Qualification Qualifications BCom in Accounting or relevant accounting degreeMinimum 6 years’ experience, including completed articlesProfessional designations preferred Experience & Capability Proven experience managing or supervising a teamStrong ability to organise, prioritise, and hold team members accountableConfident engaging directly with clientsAble to solve problems independently without constant direction or repeated clarification Flexibility Comfortable working aligned to U.S. hours (up to 11 PM on weeknights when required)Available for weekend work during busy seasonOpen to international travel if required
