We operate to provide a valued service for our local communities, and our Post Office Assistant play an important part in this. We have an exciting opportunity for a Post office Assistant to join the team at our Hillsborough Post Office in Hillsborough (hours to be worked over 6 days on a rota; Monday – Friday 9.00 – 17:30 Saturday 9-13.00). Working in a post office is not just about selling stamps, our branch provides a wide range of services to the community so having a vast product knowledge is extremely important. You will be responsible for selling financial products and services, dealing with letters and parcels, paying out pensions and benefits, accepting bill payments, dealing with vehicle registrations, checking passports applications and selling travel insurance and foreign currency. Retail work is also required alongside Post Office duties. Candidate Requirements: You will need a good eye for detail with the ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure and have cash handling experience. You will have excellent communication skills and enjoy dealing with customers . Previous Post Office experience beneficial . Job Types: Part-time, Permanent Salary: £10.85-£12.71 per hour Job Types: Part-time, Permanent Expected hours: 16 – 30 per week Benefits Free parking Ability to commute/relocate: Sheffield S6 4HA: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred) Experience: Retail sales: 1 year (preferred) Cash handling: 1 year (preferred) Work Location: In person Application deadline: 24/05/2026
