Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Cashier and Customer Service Representative, where your energy and enthusiasm will create a welcoming shopping experience for every customer. In this role, you’ll handle transactions efficiently, assist customers with their needs, and promote our products through engaging demos and upselling techniques. Your friendly communication skills and attention to detail will ensure smooth operations at the checkout counter and throughout the store. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop retail sales expertise while delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced grocery store environment. Duties Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges Greet customers warmly, answer questions, and provide product information with enthusiasm Conduct product demonstrations to showcase features and benefits, encouraging customer engagement Upsell relevant products to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales opportunities Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring product availability Handle cash transactions with precision, including cash handling, balancing registers, and issuing receipts Provide excellent phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or via online inquiries Assist in inventory management by stocking shelves and conducting regular stock checks Support team members with supervising experience by helping train new staff or guiding peers as needed Qualifications Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred but not required Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with diverse customers in a bilingual setting if applicable Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and retail math calculations Familiarity with POS systems and cashiering procedures is a plus Demonstrated customer service skills with a positive attitude and problem-solving ability Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, stocking shelves, and conducting product demos Experience supervising or leading small teams is advantageous but not mandatory Knowledge of grocery store operations and merchandising practices is beneficial Join us to be part of a lively team dedicated to delivering outstanding service while growing your retail career!
