## About the position Assist skilled craft workers in performing their assigned duties and work in other crafts at levels appropriate to your training and skills as requested by project supervision. You must have the ability to take direction from a higher skilled worker or foreman. Produce high quality work, safely and productively at all times. I expect you to maintain positive working relationships with all members of the crew and to provide feedback so that materials, tools, equipment and information are available for the work. Look for opportunities for improvement in tasks, means and methods and be willing to learn from others. Learn and understand all safety hazards related to the work and, if unsure about any aspect of the work or issues regarding safe practices, ask a supervisor before continuing. Some practical abilities we look for include effective Math skills – add, subtract, multiply and divide, and the willingness to learn to safely and effectively use or operate work related tools and equipment. Eliminate WASTE such as waiting, rework, transporting, material storage and time. Work schedule and physical demands are a core part of this role. You will: - Work up to a 12 hour shift doing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions. - Climb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds. - Lift, push or pull objects up to 50lbs. on an occasional basis. - Frequently use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects. - May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis and may stoop, kneel, or bend on an occasional basis. - Move in and around confined, cluttered and uneven areas. - Be required to use telephone, computer system, email, or other electronic devices on a limited basis to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors. Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.). You must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures. ### Minimum job requirements and credentials One year experience (level I), two years’ experience (level II) and three plus years’ experience in the industrial/commercial construction industry is preferred. NCCER Core Curriculum and /or a High School diploma or equivalent is also preferred. Possess effective verbal and written communication skills. This position is designated as Safety - Sensitive.
