Security Guard Group Limited is seeking a Part-Time Casual Security Guard to join our team in St. Thomas, Ontario. In this general site security role, you will help maintain a safe, professional environment for clients and the public. This is a casual position with no guaranteed hours per week (0–44 hours, on an on-call basis), though strong performance could lead to full-time employment. We are looking for an individual who demonstrates professionalism, reliability, and flexibility in their availability for evening, overnight, and weekend shifts. Key Responsibilities: Conduct routine foot patrols of sites to deter trespassing, theft, and other risks. Monitor surveillance systems and access points; control entry to premises as required. Report writing – document daily activities and incidents with clear, detailed reports. Respond promptly and calmly to alarms, emergencies, or incidents, following established procedures. Maintain a professional presence at all times – uphold Security Guard Group’s standards of conduct and appearance when dealing with clients, visitors, and the public. Collaborate with law enforcement or emergency services during incidents when necessary, and communicate effectively with the client and Security Guard Group supervisors. Requirements Valid Ontario Security Guard License (required by law) – candidates must already hold this license; we do not provide sponsorship. First Aid and CPR certification from a WSIB-approved provider (must be current). Legally entitled to work in Canada, with a clear criminal record (as required for security licensing). Availability for part-time, on-call shifts, including evenings, overnights, and weekends (no fixed schedule). Reliable transportation to attend different job sites (some shifts or locations may not be accessible by public transit). Ability to use a smartphone (iOS/Android) with internet access for work purposes (clock-ins, incident reporting, etc.). Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English – able to interact with the public courteously and write incident reports clearly. Strong observational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to stay alert and responsive during periods of low activity. Professionalism and punctuality – must be trustworthy, arrive on time for all shifts, and present a tidy, uniformed appearance in accordance with company standards. Previous security experience or training is an asset (e.g. former security, law enforcement, or customer service experience), but not strictly required. We value a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
