Job Title: Security Officer Classification: Non-Exempt Role Description We are looking for a highly competent security officer to join our team to monitor the premises and safeguard our members, guests, and valued staff. Our ideal candidate will have prior experience as a security officer. He or she will have a sharp eye and a quick reaction time in the detection of any suspicious or criminal behaviours, and prevent theft, vandalism, or possible harm to any persons on property. You will be working under the direct supervision of our Operations Manager for your assigned shift, we will rely upon you for protection, safeguarding and security of assets, employees, members, their guests, and other people and property on our grounds. Key Responsibilities Ensure a safe environment through team effort of diligent active patrol, strict access control, monitoring, and equipment control. Always be visible and observant, greeting staff, members, guests, and vendors in a courteous and attentive manner. Respond immediately to distress calls, panic alarms and emergency calls for disorderly conduct, disruptive persons, and incidents swiftly and appropriately. Maintain the Club’s reputation with professionalism and legal compliance. Collaborate with other security officers for effective protection and coverage. Protecting people and locations from harassment, physical attack, vandalism, and other forms of abusive or unauthorized treatment. Patrol property on foot and golf cart, securing personnel, assets, buildings, gates, and fence perimeter are secure in all weather conditions. Investigate and make the appropriate report on accidents, incidents, trespassing, suspicious activities, safety, and fire incidents. Control and monitor surveillance equipment and perform building and equipment inspections. Guard access points, permitting or refusing entry, identifying trespassers, and directing heavy traffic during start and end of business hours. Complete daily reports, including relevant information, observations, surveillance footage, and signatures. Secure all doors, windows, and exits, depending on shift. Operating closed circuit camera system. Operating golf cart operations and maintenance. Logging and tracking Lost and Found First Response team for all club emergencies Ensuring that your weapon is always well maintained and secure. Must be ready to use deadly force when appropriate or deemed so. Ensuring that security equipment and measures are suitable and that they always remain in excellent working condition. Implementing new security measures, if required. Ensuring that your uniform remains clean and well-maintained and that you wear it while on duty. The ideal candidate will have the following experience, skills, and knowledge: Five years’ armed security experience. Must have and maintain updated Texas level III Commissioned Security Guard License Must be at least 21 years of age Certification in first aid and CPR Texas driver’s license with a clean driving record Successfully pass a criminal background check No felony convictions or any crime involving the use of weapons. Speak and write English language. The ideal candidate will have the following competencies and qualities: Ability to read and review such items as professional journals and publications, legislative data, and interpret ordinances, state laws, reports and updates regarding criminal activity. The ability to write and complete a variety of written reports and memos, which may be used in a court of law. Skill in the operation of various, basic office equipment, communications devices, as well as computers. Successfully pass a criminal background check No felony convictions or any crime involving the use of weapons. Mental competency Clear drug test upon hire Must have a working smartphone, email, and reliable personal transportation. Strong interpersonal skills; able to work with people of all levels with compassion and respect, with an emphasis on client centered service. Strong commitment to the wellbeing of others Critical thinking and excellent decision-making skills. Ability to work calmly and efficiently, particularly when under distress. Capacity to work on your feet for extended periods of time Ability to work morning, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
