OverviewBudget Analyst role at University of Montana in Missoula, MT. This position supports budgeting across multiple funding sources and provides financial guidance to faculty, staff, and stakeholders. ResponsibilitiesOversee and manage budgets across multiple funding sources (state, designated, auxiliary, grant, and Foundation).Provide financial guidance and operational support to faculty, staff, and stakeholders.Prepare and reconcile financial reports, forecasts, and accreditation documentation.Manage payroll, accounts payable, procurement cards, requisitions, billing, and deposits.Coordinate travel planning and expense tracking; ensure compliance with university travel policies.Facilitate hiring processes for adjuncts, student workers, and temporary staff.Serve as a liaison between the School of Music, Dennison Theatre, CAM Dean’s Office, and other university departments.Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or a related field.Experience in higher education financial operations.Familiarity with University of Montana systems (Banner, UMDW, U-Approve, InfoGriz, GrizMart).Knowledge of UM, state, and federal accounting and budget procedures.Experience in payroll management and processing.Interest or background in the arts and media is a plus.Proficiency in accounting practices and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines in a high-volume environment.Excellent communication and ability to collaborate with diverse groups.Ability to interpret financial, historical, and statistical data and recommend adjustments.Sound judgment and discretion in handling confidential information.Seniority levelEntry levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionFinance and SalesIndustries: Higher EducationMissoula, MT #J-18808-Ljbffr Salary: USD 43200 - 72000 per year
