Security Warden
We are seeking an experienced and responsible Warden to oversee the daily operations and management of our residential facility. The candidate is required to ensure the safety, security, and well-being of the athletes while maintaining a positive and supportive living environment. Key Responsibilities Interacting with athletes, as a collective as well as individually Taking an interest in athletes activities in the residence Assisting athletes with issues and finding resolutions Attending of training programmes and discussion groups for Wardens Ensuring the Athletes Disciplinary Code is being followed House regulations are adhered to and the appropriate disciplinary action taken where necessary Assist in organizing regular fire, emergency and safety checks and drills in the residences in consultation with the Campus Protection Unit Ensure that suitable arrangements are made for emergencies Deal with athlete issues such as any threats to the physical or emotional well-being of the students Requirements An understanding of the dynamics of residence life and the realities facing athletes An ability to work independently (self-motivated with a keen sense of responsibility) Ability to cope with multiple demands (stress management) Sound conflict management skills with a high level of assertiveness Strong staff management skills, including the ability to manage in a participative way, the ability to delegate Interpersonal skills (the ability to build rapport with others and to instill confidence in others) Sound communication skills Sound administrative skills Genuine interest in students, with the ability to deal with diversity Counselling skills
