Campus Security Officer Site Description: Located in Mi’kma’ki, Mount Saint Vincent University (MSVU) is committed to equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility. Position Details: Servicing Mount Saint Vincent University, Paladin's Security Officers support the vibrant and diverse communities on campus. Position: Casual Security Officers Site: MSVU Hours: Hours fluctuate weekly and could be any of the following: 0700-1900Hrs, 1900-0700Hrs, 0700-1500Hrs, or 1700-0100Hrs Payrate: $17.55 Key Responsibilities: Patrol the building, facilities and exterior grounds Drive the university Security Patrol unit, as needed Respond to incidents and play an active role in all emergency situations Conduct investigations re: thefts, break and enter, suspicious persons, accidents, vandalism, etc and complete incident reports, occurrence logs or appropriate documentation Complete door locks/unlocks as required; monitor for unsecure doors Enforce applicable Smoke-Free Campus and Tobacco Use Policy and document all non-compliance. Provide assistance, as necessary, to University community members' Assist in orientation and training of new security personnel, as required. Provide First Aid response. Monitor surveillance cameras, as required. Other related duties and assignments, as delegated by the University Security Manager. Parking Duties may be required. Prerequisites: Valid Driver's License Ability to obtain Security License for the province of Nova Scotia Must currently hold a valid Intermediate First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a CSA-approved vendor) English (oral and written) fluency is a must Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred. Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability Why choose Paladin?
