Job Summary: This position is responsible for performing entry level general labor and site utility work for commercial and residential construction projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards Assist crew members with construction work as required Load, transport, and unload tools, materials, and equipment in a safe mannerDig trenches and remove, fill, or compact earth Mix ingredients to create compounds for covering or cleaning surfacesAssist with the handling and placement of conduit and cables Maintain equipment Perform site clean-upComplete all required Company documentationOther duties as assignedQualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.
Education: High school diploma, general education degree (G.E.D.), or related trade school education
Experience:
One-year construction, maintenance, or labor experience Knowledge and understanding of locate markings Technical Skills:
Ability to use hand toolsSoft Skills:
Ability to read, comprehend, and carry out instructions Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines Physical Requirements:
Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testingMust have a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets Company requirementsMust be in good physical condition with the ability to stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat, and lift 75 lbs. Ability to work in various settings with moderate to loud noise levels Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather Ability to stand for long periods of time on varied surfacesAbility to work long and unpredictable hours Ability to travel up to 25% of the time, including short notice travel.
