Sous Chef for San Marco Restaurant

We are looking for a creative, passionate, and experienced Sous Chef to contribute to an existing, award winning kitchen staff. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader who ensures the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and sanitation, while mentoring our culinary team and driving exceptional guest experience. Responsibilities

* Service Excellence: lead the kitchen during service, acting as the primary expeditor to ensure quality and timing

*Culinary Leadership: Assist the Executive Chef with menu development, food preparation, and creating daily specials, including recipe costing

*Operational Management: Oversee inventory, manage food ordering, and maintain strict inventory controls (FIFO) to reduce waste

*Staff Mentorship: train, supervise, and mentor junior culinary staff, enforcing standard operating procedures and kitchen cleanliness

Qualifications

*Experience: minimum 2-5 years of experience in a fine dining or upscale, high-volume kitchen

*Education: culinary degree or equivalent experience needed

*Proven experience in managing, training, and motivating a team

*Skills: exceptional knowledge of modern culinary techniques, butchery and sauciers
