Overview We are seeking a Petroleum Engineer Systems Analyst to join the Drilling Technical Department. The Drilling Technical Department is responsible for providing qualification and evaluation of new suppliers of drilling equipment and services. Identifying and introducing new technologies, digital solutions, optimization initiatives, and innovations that enhance, monitor, and support operation and safety. Your primary role is to perform and direct the development, implementation, and maintenance of reservoir, production, simulation, and drilling engineering systems and procedures. Key responsibilities As the successful candidate you will be required to perform the following: Report on the progress of projects under their control to the supervisor and/or administrator and modify work activities to reflect changes in requirements identified by management. Act as a leader on projects involving the use of data science, software development, systems analysis, and petroleum engineering skills for developing software solutions and machine learning models to problems in reservoir, drilling, and production engineering. Direct the work of new petroleum engineering systems analysts in devising and implementing solutions of technical problems using machine learning, software development, or business intelligence tools. Work with senior staff and supervisory management to assure that derived software solutions are technically valid and represent good engineering and computer practices. Minimum requirements As the successful candidate you will hold a: Bachelor degree in petroleum engineering, computer engineering, or related engineering discipline from an accredited university. A degree in computer & information systems, physical sciences, or mathematics is a plus. Seven years of experience in oil and gas industry including petroleum and drilling application systems.
