We are seeking a professional and approachable, SIA Licensed, Security Officer to support the safety and wellbeing of students, staff, and visitors across the two campuses of a busy Further Education college, on a rotation basis, 3 weeks on main campus 1 (TF1) week at 6th form campus (TF3) You will maintain a visible presence across the site, acting as a deterrent to inappropriate or unruly behaviour and non-compliance, while helping to create a calm, safe, and welcoming environment for all. Duties will include · Maintain a high-visibility security presence across populated areas of the college · Observe, monitor, and report incidents or concerns in line with college policies · Support safeguarding by promptly reporting concerns relating to students or vulnerable individuals · Engage positively with students, staff, and visitors · Complete accurate reports using IT systems as required The successful candidate must: ·· Be over 25 years of age (Preferable) · Hold a valid SIA Door Supervisor (DS) or Security Guard (SG) license · Have a minimum of 5 years’ checkable work or educational history · Communicate fluently in spoken and written English · Have basic working knowledge of Outlook and Microsoft Office · Be physically able to stand and patrol for prolonged periods · Be able to pass an Enhanced DBS check · Willing to undertake additional training as required, including First Aid, Safeguarding, and Prevent · Willing to take annual leave during college holiday periods, except in exceptional circumstances Full site training will be provided, and additional training such as First Aid, Safeguarding and Prevent will be necessary whilst at site. Shift Pattern · Monday to Friday between 07:00 – 21:00 (main campus) 07:00 – 18:00 (6th Form) · 12-hour shifts · 48-55 Hours per week · Occasional weekend shifts for cover or events may be offered in addition Potential overtime opportunities to cover annual leave and sickness *For 14 weeks per year, the sites operate on reduced staffing hours. Any reduction in hours is subsidised through annual leave to minimise financial impact.
