## Security Officer Position Join The Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts as a Security Officer and become part of our commitment to protecting guests, employees, and property assets. As a Security Officer, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining the safe, secure environment our luxury guests expect. ## Your Responsibilities You'll patrol all areas of the property and assist guests with room access while maintaining constant vigilance. A key part of your role involves monitoring Closed Circuit Televisions, the perimeter alarm system, duress alarms, and the fire life safety system. You'll lock property entrances when required and conduct daily physical hazard inspections to identify and address potential safety concerns. Responding to emergencies is a core responsibility. You'll respond to accidents, contact EMS when necessary, and be prepared to administer first aid or CPR as required. During emergency situations, you'll assist both guests and employees, ensuring their safety and well-being. When incidents occur, you'll notify appropriate individuals and document everything through thorough incident reports that capture all Security and Loss Prevention related events. Guest and employee interactions require your professionalism and judgment. You'll defuse guest and employee disturbances tactfully, call for outside assistance when necessary, and escort any unwelcome persons from the property without disrupting normal operations. You'll respond to scenes of vehicle accidents and thefts, using proper code responses to call for assistance. Documentation is essential to your role. You'll complete incident reports detailing all Security and Loss Prevention incidents, as well as Loss Prevention shift summaries and daily activity reports. You'll also conduct investigations, gather evidence, and interview relevant parties when needed. Maintaining strict confidentiality of all Security, Loss Prevention, and property reports is non-negotiable—you'll release information only to authorized individuals. ## What We're Looking For Educationally, you should have a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. No related work experience is required, and no supervisory experience is necessary. Some states may have additional licensing or registration requirements for this position, so we'll discuss any state-specific credentials during the interview process. You must be able to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time or entire work shifts. Your physical capabilities should include the ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance, and objects weighing more than 75 pounds with assistance. You'll need to grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying sizes and weights with fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. The role requires you to move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces and navigate sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces, as well as stairs and service ramps. You should be comfortable reaching overhead and below your knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping motions. You'll also need the ability to move at speeds required to respond to work situations, such as running, walking, or jogging. ## Technical and Professional Skills You must be able to read and visually verify information in various formats, including small print. Visually inspecting tools, equipment, or machines to identify defects is part of daily operations. You'll enter and locate work-related information using computers and point-of-sale systems, so basic computer competency is essential. Communication is critical—you should speak with others using clear and professional language and prepare and review written documents accurately and completely. You'll welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipating and addressing their service needs while assisting individuals with disabilities. Your genuine appreciation for guests should shine through every interaction. You'll develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, supporting the team to reach common goals. Following all company policies and procedures is non-negotiable, including reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to your manager.
