Job Title – Packing Operator Location – Duxford, Cambridgeshire Salary – £32,000 - £33,000 (DOE) Shift – Monday to Friday (Rotating: 6am–2pm / 2pm–10pm) Job Role of the Packing Operator A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Packing Operator to join a globally recognised chemical manufacturing business at their flagship Duxford site. Working as part of a small, close-knit team, you will be responsible for operating and setting packing machinery across multiple production lines, ensuring products are packed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities Operate, set, and monitor automatic and semi-automatic packing equipmentRun multiple production lines packing finished products into boxesCarry out quality checks and complete production documentationClean equipment between campaigns, including strip-down and reassemblyMonitor line performance and ensure smooth operationMaintain high housekeeping and safety standards across the plantWork collaboratively to meet daily production targetsReport hazards, near-misses, and incidentsSuggest improvements to enhance productivity, quality, and cost efficiency Sector – Chemical Manufacturing / Production Non-Negotiable Requirements Previous experience within a manufacturing or production environment Desirable Requirements Operator Experience Experience within the chemical industryKnowledge of SCADA, 5S, or similar production systems The Packing Operator Will Benefit From Competitive salary up to £33,000Overtime available (1.5x Saturday, 2x Sunday & Bank Holidays)Bonus scheme and annual incentive paymentsPension contributions up to 12%Private healthcare and employee assistance programmes25 days holiday + bank holidays + birthday off (increasing with service)Enhanced maternity, paternity, and adoption leaveCycle to work scheme and free on-site parkingAccess to 10,000+ training courses and ongoing developmentClear progression opportunities into technical or leadership roles
