A well established Oncology practice is looking to add a Chemotherapy Nurse to the team *Key Duties and Responsibilities:Patient Care & Support:Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other oncology treatments according to physician orders and established protocols.Monitor patients for adverse reactions, side effects, and overall response to treatment.Provide emotional support and education to patients and families regarding treatment plans, potential side effects, and self-care.Assess and document patient symptoms, vital signs, and clinical progress.Treatment Preparation & Administration:Prepare and handle chemotherapeutic agents safely following infection control and hazardous drug protocols.Maintain accurate records of drug administration, dosages, and patient reactions.Ensure proper labeling, storage, and disposal of chemotherapy drugs and related materials.Collaboration & Communication:Work closely with oncologists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care plans.Communicate patient concerns, complications, or changes in condition promptly to the medical team.Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case discussions.Education & Compliance:Educate patients on disease, treatment options, potential side effects, and symptom management.Maintain compliance with oncology nursing standards, institutional policies, and safety regulations.Stay updated on best practices in oncology nursing and chemotherapy administration.Administrative Duties:Maintain accurate and timely documentation in patient medical records.Assist with scheduling and follow-up appointments for chemotherapy and other treatments.Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the oncology practice.*Qualifications & Requirements:Education: Registered Nurse (RN) with a diploma or degree in nursing. Oncology nursing certification preferred.Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in oncology or chemotherapy administration is preferred.Skills & Competencies:Strong clinical assessment and patient monitoring skills.Knowledge of chemotherapy agents, protocols, and side effect management.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient education skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.Qualification in chemotherapy administration and/or oncology nursing (preferred).Other Requirements:Ability to handle stressful situations with professionalism and compassion.Knowledge of infection control and hazardous drug handling procedures.
