Our client, a litigation firm in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga, requires a Legal Administrative Assistant to support attorneys with case preparation. Duties include drafting pleadings and affidavits, organising discovery documents, preparing trial bundles, and taking notes in court. Familiarity with court rules and litigation procedures is essential. Responsibilities Draft, review, and format legal documents including contracts, pleadings, affidavits, opinions, and correspondence with high accuracy. Manage the conveyancing process for property transactions including preparing transfer documents and lodging at the Deeds Office. Liaise with clients, opposing counsel, court officials, and other stakeholders professionally, providing updates and managing expectations. Prepare and manage billing and invoicing for legal services, capturing time records and following up on outstanding accounts. Manage the diary and schedule of attorneys including arranging consultations, court appearances, and meetings with deadlines met. Conduct legal research using legislation, case law databases, and legal textbooks to support legal opinions and arguments. Requirements For candidate attorney positions, an LLB degree from an accredited university and eligibility to register articles with the law society. Knowledge of court rules, procedures, and legal terminology relevant to the practice area of the firm. A minimum of one to three years of experience in a legal environment including a law firm, corporate legal department, or public service. Excellent word processing skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office to produce accurately typed legal documents. Proficiency in legal software packages including conveyancing platforms, legal accounting systems, and document management systems. Strong attention to detail to ensure documents are error-free and deadlines and filing requirements are strictly observed. High ethical standards and the ability to handle confidential information with the utmost discretion and integrity. Qualifications Certificate in Conveyancing or Deeds Office Practice
