Construction Materials Technician Job Description Perform field and laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel. Ensure accurate communication with project managers, engineering technicians, client representatives, and contractors regarding construction site requirements and testing results. Transport material samples to the laboratory for further testing and analysis, and prepare reports for daily transmittal to the Project Manager. Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas, and assist with scheduling and dispatch of technicians to project sites. Responsibilities + Conduct field and laboratory tests on construction materials. + Communicate effectively with project stakeholders regarding site and testing requirements. + Transport material samples to the laboratory for further analysis. + Prepare and submit data and reports in written and digital formats. + Maintain cleanliness and functionality of equipment, vehicles, and work areas. + Assist in scheduling and dispatching technicians to project sites. + Adhere strictly to safety standards. Skills & Qualifications + Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. + Capability to lift up to 50 pounds. + Strong organizational skills and computer proficiency. + Exposure to construction environments or a degree in geology. + ACI certification is preferred. Work Environment The role involves working on construction sites and in an office setting. The office environment includes a team of 12 technicians and 3 engineers. Candidates should be prepared to run reports and engage in both field and office work. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kansas City, KS. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
