A security company in Uitenhage, Eastern Cape is seeking a professional Retail Security Guard to join its operational team. You will conduct patrols, monitor premises, respond to alarms and incidents, and submit detailed reports. PSIRA registration and a clean criminal record are mandatory for all security positions.ResponsibilitiesRespond promptly to alarm activations, investigate the cause, and take appropriate action including escalation to armed response or law enforcement.Perform regular checks of security equipment including alarms, cameras, radios, and access control systems to ensure functionality.Monitor CCTV camera feeds in real time from a control room, identifying and responding to any unusual or suspicious activity.Provide excellent customer service to clients, tenants, and visitors while maintaining a firm and professional security presence.Write detailed and accurate incident reports describing security events, observations, and actions taken for management review.RequirementsGood written and verbal communication skills to write reports and interact professionally with clients and the public.A minimum of one to two years of experience in the security industry with a proven track record of reliability.Grade 12 certificate is preferred; Grade 10 may be acceptable for certain entry-level positions.The ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure in emergency or high-stress situations.A clear criminal record is mandatory and subject to regular review as per PSIRA requirements.A valid PSIRA registration at the appropriate grade level for the position being applied for.For armed response roles, a valid firearm competency certificate and experience in handling firearms safely.QualificationsPSIRA Grade A or B Registration
