Overview Join our dynamic team as a General Labor - Traffic Control professional (temporary Entry-Level) and play a vital role in ensuring safety and efficiency at various job sites on public and private roads. In this energetic position, you will be responsible for directing traffic, maintaining safe work zones, and supporting various construction activities. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will help keep jobs on track while promoting a safe environment for workers and the public alike. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop hands-on skills in heavy equipment operation and construction site management. Duties Include, but not Limited to: Set up and maintain traffic control devices like cones, signs, and barriers to ensure safe passage around construction zones; such as flagging and maintaining lane closures. Monitor work zones for hazards or unsafe conditions and communicate promptly with team members to address issues Follow all safety procedures and regulations to promote a secure work environment for everyone on-site Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic according to Traffic Control plans and safety protocols Rental Equipment maintenance, and service Traffic Control equipment Deliveries and general yard/warehouse clean-up, including pulling stock for orders Loading and unloading Traffic Control equipment on vehicles Light manufacturing duties using various small tools Local Delivery and Pickup of materials and/or equipment Skills Physical stamina to stand 8-10 hours per day (flagging), walk, lift heavy objects (must be able to lift 50lbs), and work outdoors in various weather conditions Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and directing traffic effectively High School Diploma, or equivalent Valid California Driver's License with clean driving record is required Fluent in English, bilingual in Spanish is preferred Must have reliable transportation to and from work and have own insurance Must provide clean DMV record prior to hire Personal Attributes Hard worker: Someone with a strong work ethic who is ready to dive in. Team player: A person who collaborates well and supports their colleagues. Dependable and punctual: We need someone we can count on to be here and ready to go on time. Good people skills: Strong communication and the ability to interact positively with others is a must. This is a part-time position with the potential to grow into a full-time role. There are no set times or hours for this role, as the position will be based on our current workload. Because of this, we are looking for someone who has a flexible schedule and can help out as needed. We are more than willing to train the right individual to eventually become a qualified Traffic Technician.
