Our client, a dedicated non-profit organization focused on community empowerment, is seeking compassionate and proactive Community Support Workers to join their team in **George, Western Cape**. This vital role involves direct engagement with individuals and families in need, providing essential support services and facilitating access to resources. You will be instrumental in building trust, offering guidance, and fostering a sense of belonging within the community. This is a hands-on position requiring significant fieldwork and client interaction. Responsibilities: Provide direct support and case management services to clients, including needs assessments, action planning, and resource referral. Conduct home visits and community outreach to engage with vulnerable individuals and families. Offer emotional support, advocacy, and practical assistance to clients facing various challenges. Facilitate group sessions and workshops aimed at skill development and community building. Maintain accurate and confidential client records, documenting progress and outcomes. Collaborate with other social service agencies, healthcare providers, and community stakeholders to ensure comprehensive client care. Respond to crisis situations with empathy and professionalism, providing immediate support and safety planning. Promote community integration and social inclusion for clients. Participate in regular team meetings, supervision sessions, and professional development activities. Contribute to program development and evaluation efforts. Adhere to ethical guidelines and organizational policies in all aspects of work. Qualifications: A relevant qualification in Social Work, Community Development, Psychology, or a related field is preferred. Proven experience working in a community-based or social support setting. Demonstrated understanding of social issues, community dynamics, and support systems. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse populations. Strong empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental approach. Proficiency in case management and record-keeping. Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for fieldwork. Knowledge of local resources and referral pathways in the George area. First Aid or crisis intervention training is an advantage.
