The Forum School, an NJDOE Approved Private School for Students with Disabilities is seeking a full-time Human Resources Manager for the 2026-2027 School Year, preferably to start ASAP. Full medical, dental, vision, life and LTD benefits from day one. 12-month position. Salary range $60,000-$75,000. The School Human Resources (HR) Manager supports the HR needs of the school by assisting with recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance with education-related policies and labor laws. This role ensures that the school’s personnel operations run efficiently and that both teaching and non-teaching staff have the support they need to focus on their roles in education. Key Responsibilities: Recruitment and Onboarding: Assist in the recruitment of teaching, administrative, and support staff, including posting job openings, screening resumes, and coordinating interviews. Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring all required background checks, certifications, and documentation are completed. Prepare and manage employment contracts and new hire paperwork. Teacher and Staff Certification: Ensure all staff meet required certifications and credentials in accordance with state and district regulations. Track and update certification records and ensure timely renewals. Employee Relations: Serve as a point of contact for school employees regarding HR-related questions and concerns. Assist in resolving staff issues, collaborating with the Principal and HR Manager when necessary. Promote a positive work environment by supporting staff wellness and engagement initiatives. Benefits and Payroll Administration: Assist staff with benefit enrollments and address inquiries about health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee benefits. Manage payroll on semi-monthly basis. Liaise with the payroll vendor to ensure accurate and timely salary payments, deductions, and adjustments. Manage employee leaves of absence, including tracking sick days, vacation days, and other time-off requests. Maintain timesheets per NJDOE requirements. Coordinate administration of retirement plan benefits. Compliance and Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate personnel records for teaching and non-teaching staff in compliance with school policies and education laws. Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal labor laws and regulations, including those specific to education (e.g., background checks, child safety standards). Prepare reports for school administration and regulatory bodies as needed. Training and Professional Development: Coordinate professional development programs for teachers and staff, ensuring compliance with continuing education requirements. Track and manage staff participation in required training programs, including child safety, classroom management, and professional standards. HR Policies and Procedures: Assist in developing, implementing, and updating school HR policies and procedures. Ensure staff are informed of HR policies, including attendance, dress code, professional behavior, and employee conduct. Handle sensitive issues with confidentiality and professionalism. HR Support for School Leadership: Work closely with school leadership, including the Director and Principal, to address staffing needs and issues. Support the implementation of new HR initiatives or changes in policy as directed by the school or district administration. Administrative Support: Perform administrative tasks, such as filing, data entry, and scheduling meetings for HR-related matters. Assist with the preparation of staff communications and school bulletins related to HR. Job Requirements: MINIMUM: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Education, or related field (preferred).
