If so, we would like to draw your attention to a Teaching Assistant position that has just opened up in the Department of Work and Employment Studies (WES) at the Kemmy Business School, University of Limerick, Ireland. The Department of Work and Employment Studies comprises scholars who champion decent, inclusive, and sustainable work and employment and are committed to excellent and impactful research and teaching. Our research expertise is reflected in the quality of our publication and citation records, sustained successes in securing international and national competitive grant funding, and the impact of our industry/organisation-level research. Our commitment to teaching excellence extends to all our students across the programmes we deliver and is reflected in the quality of the teaching environments created by our award-winning faculty. The Department now wishes to recruit a Teaching Assistant to support the delivery of tutorials in the areas of Human Resource Management, Employment Relations, Learning and Development, Organisational Behaviour and Organisational Psychology. The successful applicant will be required to carry out teaching, administrative and assessment duties connected with the post, and any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Head of Department. The role of the Teaching Assistant provides clear oversight of what an academic career entails and so might particularly appeal to those who are considering pursuing an academic or teaching career in the future. However, the role also provides a really great opportunity to deepen existing subject knowledge, and to develop a range of critically important professional competences and skills that are readily transferable to all workplaces. These include, but are not limited to presentation skills, time management, task scheduling, record keeping, problem solving, teamworking, interpersonal communication, intercultural awareness, and training/learning design and delivery.
