As a Warehouse Forklift Operator (internally known as a PIT Operator), you are a highly specialized and deeply respected member of the team. Mastering Heavy MachineryOperating Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) at Amazon goes far beyond a standard sit-down forklift. Our facilities utilize a diverse fleet of high-tech, narrow-aisle machinery. Safety is our ultimate obsession; you will be thoroughly trained, certified, and continuously audited to ensure a flawless safety record. "The training here is incredible. Daily High-Reach DutiesVertical Replenishment: You will operate wire-guided Turret Trucks and Stand-Up Reach Trucks to pull massive pallets of bulk inventory from high-reserve storage, bringing them down to active lower bins so ground-level pickers can fulfill customer orders.Order Picking at Altitude: Utilizing an Order Picker (Cherry Picker), you will wear a full-body safety harness tethered to the machine, rising dozens of feet into the air to hand-pick large, non-sortable items (like microwaves or dog food bags) directly onto your elevated platform.Rigorous Safety Auditing: Before the keys ever turn, you will execute a comprehensive 20-point mechanical inspection of your machinery, logging battery levels, hydraulic fluid status, and harness integrity to prevent catastrophic failures.Premium Operator RewardsYour specialized skills command premium compensation.
