Experience & Qualifications 2 Years’ experience in an accounting practice where month work was managed. Alternatively experience in doing month work for a company Competency in Pastel, Microsoft Office and SARS e-filing Grade 12 with minimum of 2 years work related experience. Diploma/Certificate in a financial direction will be an advantage Key Requirements: Pastel processing and filing Prepare routine entries and post financial transactions on pastel as per the standard operating procedures. Reconcile entries and internal ledgers Reconcile various expenditure reports to source documents Distribute and file financial documents and reports in the prescribed manner File all documentation correctly on a monthly basis Ensure month end is run on time and all information is correct Make changes on pastel as requested by relationship managers/ other managers in department Responsible to obtain all information as described in the standard operating procedures to do month work: Bank and credit card statements Proof of all expenses and creditors (including invoices for Vat purposes) Obtain explanation of unfamiliar expenses Petty cash reconciliations Hire-purchase statements Bond statements Debtors / Turnover Property portfolio balances Salaries (obtaining information pertaining to bonuses / increases / cycle of salary year) Completing of Vat returns Obtain all invoices/proof before VAT is finalised Vat turnover reconciliation Handling of VAT audits Ad hoc and admin tasks Any ad hoc tasks as assigned by upper management from time to time.
