Company Overview Wallis & Son Ltd is an established family run business which has been specialising in the motor trade since 1937. The fourth generation of the family now leads a dependable team at their site in the picturesque village of Barton just on the outskirts of Cambridge. Summary We are seeking an experienced and motivated Forecourt Shop Manager to oversee the daily operations of our busy petrol station, shop and food-to-go section. This role is ideal for someone with strong retail management skills. The ability to prioritise effectively in the day to day running of the store and maximise the value of the various products and services on offer. As a manager you will play an instrumental role, you will be required to manage a busy team using your own initiative and accepting delegated responsibility from the Senior Management. You will be have overall responsibility for the site , direct colleagues to ensure that Health & Safety and cleanliness standards are maintained. You will lead from the front, be a real ‘hands on’ manager and take control of the development of your team. Key Responsibilities Manage the day-to-day running of the petrol statiom, shop and food-to-go operation Prepare and supervise the cooking and serving of hot. Ensure high standards of food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness are maintained at all times Lead, train, and motivate staff to deliver excellent customer service Monitor stock levels, including stock counts, ordering, merchandising, and wastage control Book in orders on EPOS system Handle cash management and card teminals Drive sales and profitability through promotions and strong store presentation Ensure compliance with company procedures and health & safety regulations To see in and order fuel deliveries safely and legally to meet the needs of the business Requirements Previous retail, convenience store, or forecourt management experience Experience preparing or supervising food-to-go Strong leadership and communication skills Good understanding of stock control and cash handling Ability to work efficiently under pressure Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends If you are passionate about retail, customer service, and leading a successful team, we would love to hear from you. Requirements
