We are recruiting a Warehouse Assistant for a retail distribution centre in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga. Duties include receiving and checking deliveries, picking orders according to pick lists, packing goods for dispatch, and maintaining stock accuracy through regular cycle counts. Experience with handheld scanners and warehouse management systems is an advantage. Responsibilities Safety & Housekeeping Maintain a clean, organised, and hazard-free warehouse by sweeping floors, clearing aisles, and disposing of waste packaging daily. Adhere to all workplace health and safety policies including wearing prescribed PPE and following safe manual handling procedures. Report any damaged racking, equipment malfunctions, or safety hazards to the warehouse supervisor immediately. Ensure all goods are stacked safely and within weight limits on shelving and pallets to prevent collapse or damage. Keep receiving and dispatch areas clear and accessible at all times to ensure efficient workflow and emergency access. Requirements Previous experience in a warehouse, stores, or distribution environment is advantageous. Physical fitness to stand, walk, lift, and carry items for extended periods in a warehouse setting. Basic numeracy and literacy skills to read pick lists, count stock, and complete delivery documentation accurately. Ability to operate pallet jacks and basic warehouse equipment; forklift licence is an advantage. Attention to detail and accuracy when picking, packing, and checking orders to avoid errors and customer complaints. Reliable and punctual with ability to work shifts including early mornings, late afternoons, and weekends as required. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet daily productivity targets while maintaining quality standards. Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a warehouse team. Qualifications Grade 10 with Warehouse Experience
