A residential estate in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape requires a Property Maintenance Worker to maintain common areas, facilities, and infrastructure. You will handle minor electrical and plumbing repairs, paint and touch up walls, service gate motors, and keep grounds neat. A proactive individual who can prioritise tasks and work independently is needed.ResponsibilitiesClear blocked drains, replace taps and washers, repair toilet cisterns, and address minor plumbing leaks to maintain water reticulation systems.Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of work areas, storage rooms, and external grounds.Conduct regular inspections of buildings, systems, and equipment to identify maintenance needs and prevent costly breakdowns.Touch up paintwork and perform minor painting tasks to maintain the appearance and condition of buildings and common areas.Diagnose and repair basic electrical faults including replacing light fittings, switches, plugs, and circuit breakers in accordance with safety regulations.Report safety hazards, equipment defects, and maintenance needs to supervisors without delay.RequirementsGood problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose faults and determine the most effective repair approach.Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision while managing a schedule of maintenance tasks.Previous experience in building maintenance, handyman work, or at least two skilled trades such as plumbing, electrical, or carpentry.A valid driver's licence and own reliable transport are preferred for travelling between properties and responding to callouts.Good communication skills and a professional manner when interacting with tenants, clients, and contractors.Physical fitness to perform manual tasks including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces or at heights.QualificationsNo Formal Qualification Required with Proven Maintenance Skills
