Position Summary: Center for Family Services is seeking an experienced Budget Analyst with knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial and business analysis. This individual will track and analyzes revenue and expenses by program at the fund source level on a monthly basis and effectively use accounting system and tools to complete their work functions efficiently. The Budget Analyst communicates with Director of Finance and Supervisors on a regular basis, analyzes and implements process of developing and monitoring program budgets, supports programs, provides outstanding customer service in all agency interactions, and has outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Location: Warren County, New Jersey Job Status: Full Time Salary: $65,000 per year Duties and Responsibilities: The Budget Analyst supports management of the organization through timely and accurate financial tracking, reporting and analysis. The responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting in tracking all financial transactions impacting the organization, preparing, and monitoring financial forecasts to ensure expenditures are within budget constraints, accurately recording and appropriately classifying and reconciling transactions by account. The Budget Analyst assists in fiscal operation management in developing and monitoring appropriate fiscal policy and implementation of procedure suitable to the program and agency budgetary needs. This individual shows consistent initiative in all position responsibilities including problem solving, identifying areas of improvement, and implementing innovative solutions as well as exercises effective time management skills. Prepares journal entries and funding allocation modification where needed. Prepares budget vs. actual variance analyses. Investigates anomalies and unexplained variances, whether in budget or actuals. This individual has a strong commitment to personal and collective professional development and participates in continuing professional development opportunities. The Budget Analyst conducts self as a role model in interactions with staff, colleagues, and funding sources while displaying consistent ethical behavior and also respects the confidentiality of clients and staff by adhering to the Code of Ethics and Confidentiality Agreement. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field is preferred, will consider equivalent experience 2-5 years of experience working with Budgets and Expense Reports Experience with Microsoft Office software. Intermediate to advanced Excel, including work with large data sets Demonstrated experience handling sensitive and confidential information with a high level of discretion Excellent writing and other communication skills, ability to convey complex and potentially confusing information in a straightforward and professional manner Knowledge of Blackbaud Accounting software a plus Benefits: At the Center for Family Services our employees are our greatest resource, and we are committed to investing in our staff.
