PSiRA-Graded Security Officers / Protection Officers – Crowd Management & Crowd Control Location: Various sites across Gauteng Engagement: Contract employment, as-and-when required Period: Database and deployment consideration over a 36-month period Company: SRS Specialised Risk Services SRS is building a vetted database of qualified contract security officers and protection officers for crowd management, crowd control, and public-facing security deployments at various sites in Gauteng. This is not a permanent full-time appointment . Successful candidates will be screened and, if compliant, added to the SRS Contract Workers Database. Candidates may then be contacted for deployments as operational requirements arise over a 36-month period. Minimum Requirements Applicants must have • Valid PSiRA registration , in good standing Minimum PSiRA Grade C for Security Officers / Protection OfficersPSiRA Grade B minimum for Supervisors / Team Leaders; Grade A will be advantageousFormal, valid Crowd Control Management / Crowd Management certificationSASSETA-aligned crowd control / crowd management certification, or recognised equivalentMinimum 3 years’ relevant experience in specialised security services, crowd control, crowd management, protection services, event security, public order support, or similar environmentsValid South African ID • Recent SAPS Police Clearance Certificate , preferably not older than 6 months, or proof of application where the certificate is pending Ability to work on short notice, including evenings, weekends, and public holidaysAbility to work across various sites in GautengGood verbal and written communication skillsProficiency in English and at least one other South African official languageProfessional appearance, disciplined conduct, neutrality, and emotional control under pressurePhysical fitness and ability to respond effectively in emergency or high-pressure situations Advantageous Certifications / Experience The following will strengthen an application: First Aid Level 1 or higherBasic Fire FightingFirearm competency certificates, where applicable to lawful armed deploymentsDe-escalation / conflict management trainingEmergency response or evacuation trainingExperience with two-way radios and operational communication proceduresExperience in access control, incident reporting, patrols, security registers, and site-specific SOPsValid driver’s licenceContactable references from previous crowd control, protection, event, municipal, corporate, or public-facing security deployments Key Duties May Include Supporting safe and orderly movement of people at assigned sitesCrowd management and crowd control supportManaging disruptions professionally and lawfullyDe-escalating tense or volatile situationsSupporting access control and perimeter control where requiredProtecting personnel, visitors, officials, clients, property, and designated areasAssisting with emergency response and evacuation proceduresWorking with supervisors, client representatives, existing security teams, and law enforcement where requiredPreparing incident reports and following site-specific instructionsMaintaining a professional, neat, and disciplined presence during deployment Documents Required Applicants must submit clear copies of the following: Updated CVCertified copy of South African IDValid PSiRA certificate / registration proofCrowd Control Management / Crowd Management certificateSASSETA-aligned certificate or recognised equivalentSAPS Police Clearance Certificate, if availableFirst Aid, Firearm Competency, Basic Fire Fighting, or other relevant certificates, if heldCopies of any additional security training certificatesContactable references, preferably linked to crowd management or protection deployments Applications without supporting certificates may not be processed.
