RAW MATERIALS PLANNER

The Raw Materials Planner is responsible for ensuring that all raw materials are available for production at the correct time and in the correct quantities. This role ensures optimal stock availability while maintaining accurate inventory levels and minimising shortages, excess stock, and obsolescence. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Plan and manage raw material requirements in line with production schedules and forecasts 2. Monitor stock levels and place purchase or replenishment orders timeously 3. Liaise with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of materials 4. Coordinate closely with production, planning, and warehouse teams to ensure supply continuity 5. Track material shortages and proactively resolve supply disruptions 6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records on the system 7. Assist in preparing stock, usage, and planning reports 8. Identify and reduce excess, obsolete, or slow-moving stock 9. Support continuous improvement in inventory and supply chain processes REQUIREMENTS 1. Grade 12 2. Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, or a related field 3. 2–5 years’ experience in materials planning, inventory control, or supply chain roles 4. Experience within manufacturing or FMCG environments will be advantageous 5. Strong planning, coordination, and organisational abilities 6. High attention to detail and accuracy 7. Good communication and stakeholder management skills 8. Strong computer literacy, particularly Microsoft Excel 9. Experience with Syspro or similar ERP systems advantageous 10. About this role
