BC Forward is hiring for Security Officer at Phoenix, AZ Position: Security Officer Location: Phoenix, AZ 85008 Duration: Temp - 4 months, with potential extension or conversion to FTE. Start upon completion of onboarding. Work Type: Onsite Pay Range: $19.08/hr Job Description We are seeking a Security Officer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in hospital and campus security operations, access control, incident response, and de-escalation and a proven ability to maintain a safe and secure environment through rounds, monitoring, and effective interventions. Responsibilities: · Conduct daily rounds and manage ingress/egress for Civil Hospital, Forensic Hospital, Arizona Community Protection & Treatment Center, and the broader campus. · Respond to and participate in codes, drills, emergencies, safety inspections, and customer service activities. · Rotate through assigned posts and serve as a campus interior rover as needed. · Assist in patient interventions to support staff and help resolve patient conflicts appropriately. · Encourage proper Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) methods and provide timely information to the on-duty Hospital Security Supervisor. · Support vehicle and radio maintenance, safety inspections, and related documentation. Required Skills & Qualifications: · Experience as a Security Guard/Officer, preferably in healthcare or campus environments. · Ability to receive, transmit, and carry out written and verbal directives. · Proficiency in verbal de-escalation techniques and NVCI principles. · Knowledge of evacuation procedures and fire extinguisher use and operation. · Skill in investigation and incident report writing. · Experience monitoring and operating electronic cameras and safety equipment, including radios, telephones, and emergency numbers. · Ability to respond to hospital codes and provide verbal and/or physical intervention in critical patient interactions. · Strong interpersonal skills with patients/residents, staff, law enforcement, and visitors. · Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures and communicate effectively in writing and verbally. · Capability to perform physical duties including lifting and carrying. · Commitment to supporting a diverse, inclusive, and equitable work environment. Preferred Skills: · Current FPCC. If not held, candidate must apply upon hiring. · Healthcare security experience with exposure to hospital codes and patient interactions. Health & Vaccine Requirements: · Rubella/Rubeola titers or MMR vaccination. · Hepatitis B titer or Hepatitis B vaccination. · Varicella titer or Varicella vaccination. · Current TB skin test or QTB within the past 12 months. · N-95 mask fitting.
