Introduction We are looking for a highly experienced, detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper for an Import / Manufacturing / Distribution business. Duties & Responsibilities · Perform regular bank reconciliations in Xero, ensuring all transactions are matched accurately and any discrepancies are investigated and resolved promptly. · Manage the accounts receivable ledger and support a team member in proactively chasing outstanding payments to maintain healthy cash flow. · Audit supplier invoices and bills versus Statements within Xero, manage the accounts payable schedule. · Audit and allocate payroll in Xero for a small team, ensuring timely and accurate processing. · Allocate income and expenditure accurately to specific cost centres within Xero, enabling meaningful management reporting channel. · Assist with month-end close procedures including accruals, prepayments, and production of management accounts summaries. · Maintain organized, audit ready financial records and ensure compliance with company policies. · Liaise with the external accountant at month-end and Iron out any anomalies before the monthly income statement meeting. · Identify and recommend improvements to Xero workflows, integrations, and processes to improve efficiency. Desired Experience & Qualification · Minimum 5 years – 10 years bookkeeping experience. · Tertiary bookkeeping / accounting degree or diploma · Proven, hands-on expertise with Xero — including bank feeds, invoicing, bills, payroll, and VAT returns. · Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping principles. · Experience managing cost centers allocation. · Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for analysis and reporting. · High level of accuracy and attention to detail with the ability to spot and resolve anomalies. · Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
