Position: Entry Level Construction Inspector (TRAINEE POSITION) – Full-time. Location: Astoria, NY . On-site . ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Travel to various project sites daily. Monitor construction operations and use applicable field‑testing procedures and equipment. Perform required field and building inspections and testing per project and client specifications. Observe and report on environmentally sustainable construction practices, energy‑efficient materials, and green‑building standards. Prepare daily field reports. Communicate deficiencies to project managers, contractors, and client representatives. Interpret project‑related drawings and documents. Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or equivalent; outdoor labor, construction knowledge, or relevant BOCES training preferred. Ability to complete required OSHA trainings within a reasonable period of time. Effective communication with supervisors, clients, contractors, and inspectors regarding specifications and test results. Capacity to record project data and complete required field inspection reports. Ability to review industry standards, plans, and specifications and recognize deficiencies. Valid, acceptable driver\'s license and transportation to travel to project sites daily. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Assume stationary positions. Handle, inspect, and/or feel documents, materials and equipment relevant to the job. Communicate with colleagues via email and telephone. Move around on the job site, including ascending/descending landscapes or ladders, and position oneself for testing equipment. Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Good visual skills, including depth perception. Operate a motor vehicle for daily operations, possibly remaining stationary for extended periods.
