Retail Security Officer

Job Overview We are seeking a vigilant and professional Retail Security Officer to ensure the safety and security of our premises, staff, and customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring the store environment, preventing theft, and responding promptly to incidents. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic retail environment where attention to detail and proactive security measures are essential. Duties Conduct regular surveillance of the store using CCTV systems to monitor activity and identify suspicious behaviour. Patrol the premises to deter theft, vandalism, and unauthorised access. Implement loss prevention strategies by observing customer and staff conduct and intervening when necessary. Respond swiftly and appropriately to incidents, including assisting customers or staff in emergency situations. Maintain detailed incident reports and logs of security activities. Assist with crowd control during busy periods or special events. Support store management with security-related tasks as required, including opening and closing procedures. Requirements Proven experience in surveillance, loss prevention, or security roles is desirable. Knowledge of CCTV systems and monitoring procedures. First aid certification is preferred to handle emergency situations effectively. Excellent observational skills with a keen eye for detail. Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle difficult situations professionally. Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed. Must be physically fit to patrol the premises effectively and respond quickly to incidents. This role is vital in maintaining a safe shopping environment for all visitors and staff while safeguarding company assets through vigilant security practices. Pay: £12.71-£14.00 per hour Licence/Certification: Door Supervisor License (required) Work Location: In person
