Our client, a leading facilities management company, is seeking a diligent and experienced Industrial Cleaning Supervisor to oversee cleaning operations at large-scale commercial and industrial sites. This role is crucial for maintaining the highest standards of hygiene, safety, and cleanliness across client premises. The supervisor will lead a team of cleaning staff, manage schedules, conduct quality control inspections, and ensure the proper use of cleaning equipment and supplies. This is an on-site position, requiring hands-on supervision and direct engagement with the cleaning team and site management. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of industrial cleaning techniques, health and safety protocols, and team leadership. Key Responsibilities: Supervise and manage a team of cleaning staff, assigning tasks, and monitoring performance. Develop and implement cleaning schedules and routines to ensure all areas are maintained to a high standard. Conduct regular inspections of all cleaned areas to ensure quality, efficiency, and adherence to safety protocols. Train new cleaning staff on proper cleaning techniques, equipment operation, and health and safety procedures. Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels and proper storage. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations related to cleaning operations. Address and resolve any cleaning-related issues or client complaints promptly and effectively. Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities, staff attendance, and supply usage. Operate and maintain various cleaning equipment, including industrial vacuums, floor scrubbers, and pressure washers. Promote a safe working environment and ensure the team adheres to all safety guidelines. Communicate effectively with site managers and clients regarding cleaning services and any required improvements. Motivate and guide the cleaning team to achieve high performance standards. Assist with cleaning duties as needed during peak times or staff shortages. Qualifications: Proven experience in industrial or commercial cleaning, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or team lead role. In-depth knowledge of cleaning chemicals, materials, and equipment. Strong understanding of health, safety, and hygiene regulations in a commercial/industrial setting. Excellent leadership, organizational, and time management skills. Ability to train and motivate a team effectively. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Physical stamina and ability to perform manual tasks, including operating cleaning machinery. Reliability and a strong work ethic. Knowledge of COSHH regulations is advantageous. Must be able to work on-site and manage operations directly.
