A renewable energy developer in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal is hiring a Maintenance Engineer for wind and solar energy projects. You will conduct feasibility studies, perform energy yield assessments, design plant layouts, and manage engineering aspects of procurement and construction. Experience in the renewable energy sector is strongly encouraged. Responsibilities Liaise with clients, contractors, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are clearly communicated. Ensure all engineering work complies with relevant standards, codes of practice, health and safety regulations, and environmental legislation. Manage engineering projects from feasibility through detailed design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover. Prepare and review engineering drawings, bills of quantities, technical reports, and contract documentation to high accuracy. Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance programmes for industrial plant and equipment to maximise reliability. Mentor and supervise junior engineers, technicians, and graduate trainees, providing technical and professional development guidance. Conduct regular site inspections and audits to verify construction or installation work complies with designs and quality specifications. Requirements Strong project management skills including scheduling, cost estimation, and contract administration. Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and coordinating across engineering disciplines for integrated project outcomes. A minimum of five to eight years of postgraduate engineering experience with demonstrable project achievements in the relevant sector. A bachelor's degree in engineering in the relevant discipline from a university accredited by the Engineering Council of South Africa. Strong understanding of engineering standards, codes of practice, and regulatory requirements applicable in South Africa. Qualifications Professional Engineer Registration with ECSA
