## Laborer Apprentice Mortenson is currently seeking a Laborer Apprentice to join our team. In this role, you'll be responsible for learning the trade while assisting with preparation, handling, and supplying of materials to be used by other crafts. ## What You'll Be Doing Your day-to-day responsibilities will include loading and unloading equipment, erecting and dismantling scaffolding (5X7X16) and staging, and leveling ground for scaffolding. You'll tend motor and grout, lift, unload, move, set, and shovel mortar and grout between wheelbarrows and buckets. General cleanup and clearing of debris is an important part of the role—this includes sweeping, cleaning, washing, and loading or burning of debris. You'll also be placing, pushing, pulling, and shoveling concrete, as well as vibrating concrete. Beyond these technical tasks, you're expected to effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels. All other duties as assigned are part of this position. ## What We're Looking For To succeed in this apprenticeship, you must be enrolled in the Apprentice Aptitude Program. While experience in construction is preferred, what matters most is your ability to work with tools and equipment—including power and non-powered hand tools, vibrators, pumps, drills, jackhammers, forklifts, skid loaders, and power buggies. We value strong teamwork orientation, a positive attitude, and professional customer service skills. You should be detail oriented with active listening skills and effective communication abilities, including an openness to diverse input and feedback. This position requires repetitive hand, arm, and leg movements, and you'll need to be comfortable with lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs.
