We have an immediate vacancy for a Heavy Vehicle Driver at a distribution centre in George, Western Cape. You will make multiple deliveries per day, plan efficient routes, and provide excellent customer service at each point. The ideal driver is punctual, courteous, and takes pride in maintaining a clean vehicle. Responsibilities Provide polite and professional service to customers at delivery and collection points, representing the company positively in all interactions. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, checking tyres, lights, brakes, fluid levels, and safety equipment before every journey. Keep the assigned vehicle clean and tidy both inside and out, arranging regular washing and ensuring the cab is free of litter. Maintain accurate driver logbooks and trip sheets recording hours driven, distances travelled, fuel used, and any incidents or delays. Operate assigned vehicles safely and responsibly in compliance with all road traffic laws, company policies, and client delivery instructions. Plan and follow the most efficient delivery routes using GPS navigation and local knowledge to minimise fuel consumption and ensure on-time deliveries. Requirements A clear criminal record as background checks are conducted for positions involving valuable goods or passenger transport. Good knowledge of road networks and geography within the {province} region, with ability to navigate efficiently. Physical fitness to handle loading and unloading cargo, including the ability to lift heavy items when required. A valid Professional Driving Permit for roles involving passenger transport or dangerous goods as required by legislation. Strong time management skills with ability to plan routes and deliveries to meet tight deadlines and customer time windows. Excellent customer service orientation with ability to communicate politely and professionally with customers at delivery points. A valid Code 10, Code 14, or equivalent driving licence appropriate to the vehicle class being operated. Qualifications Valid Code 8 Driving Licence for Light Delivery Vehicles
