RETAIL BAR & HOSPITALITY MANAGERS – BATH RACECOURSE About the Role This is a casual, flexible position focused on managing our bars, food outlets, or hospitality suites on race days and selected event dates. As a Retail Bar or Hospitality Manager, you’ll take ownership of service delivery, team performance, and operational efficiency across your designated area. What You’ll Do Lead, motivate, and support your team to deliver consistent, high-quality service. Ensure every guest receives a warm welcome and professional, attentive experience. Brief, train, and develop team members so they’re confident and event-ready. Manage staffing levels, break schedules, and shift planning on the day. Maintain stock levels, assist with rotation, and minimise wastage. Uphold excellent standards of cleanliness and compliance across Health & Safety, COSHH, and licensing requirements. Resolve customer queries or complaints promptly and professionally. Create a positive, energetic atmosphere for both guests and staff. Drive sales, upselling opportunities, and overall business performance. Delegate tasks clearly to ensure smooth, efficient service delivery. What We’re Looking For Proven experience in retail or hospitality management within fast-paced environments. Confident leadership skills with the ability to inspire and support diverse teams. Excellent communication and customer service standards. Flexible, adaptable, and committed to delivering first-class experiences. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle challenges calmly. Professional, well-presented, and guest-focused at all times. Experience using tills and PDQ machines. Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions. Desirable Experience Background in premium F&B, events, or restaurant management. Knowledge of licensing, food hygiene, and health & safety regulations. Personal Licence Holder (advantageous). Strong organisation, planning, and systems skills.
